DIY - oorbellen/earrings "perzik"

Vandaag koos ik voor een paar oorbellen met wat werk aan. Maar het resultaat is wel bijzonder mooi, ik heb de bellen al vaak gedragen. 

In de hoofdrol een koppel edelsteenkralen: crab fire agaat. Het stoffige gaat er helaas na een tijdje af waardoor de krakjes minder zichtbaar worden. Maar dan zijn ze ook nog mooi. 

Today a pair of earrings that needs a bit of work to make. But the result is gorgeous, I wear them a lot!

Leading role is for a couple of crab fire agate beads. Sadly the dust comes of the surface after a while, making the cracks less visible. But even then, they are still beautiful.

Ik flankeerde de crab fire agaatkralen met crèmekleurige edelsteenkraaltjes en vervolledigde ze met wat 'wire'werk in koperdraad met rocailles.

I added some cream coloured gem beads and some wire work in copper with some seed beads.

BENODIGDHEDEN/SUPPLIES

materiaal/material

• 2 x 1 crab fire agaat buttonkraal/crab fire agate button bead
• 2 x 2 roze/crèmekleurige edelsteenkralen/soft pink/cream coloured gem stone beads
• 2 x 2 koperen tussenstukjes/copper spacers
• wat rocailles/some seed beads
• een stuk dik koperen metaaldraad/a piece of heavy copper wire
• een eindje dunne koperen metaaldraad/a piece of light weighted copper wire
• 2 x 3 open ringetjes/split rings
• oorhaakjes/ear wire

gereedschap/tools

• 2 platbektangen, bij voorkeur minstens eentje met een glad oppervlak/flat nose pliers, preferably one with a smooth surface
• rondbektang/round nose pliers
• kniptang/cutting pliers
• klein aambeeld/small anvil (optional)
• hamer/hammer (optional)

ZO MAAK JE HET/DIY

Om de oorbellen zo gelijkend mogelijk te maken, is het aangewezen deze basisvormen voor beide bellen tegelijkertijd te maken.

Neem de dikke metaaldraad en knip er 2 gelijke stukken af.

Wikkel ze rond een tubevormig voorwerp ( een flessenhals, een stok .. ) .

Op de plek van de kruising van beide uiteinden, plooi je de uiteinden 90 graden naar buiten. 

Met de platbektang maak je de beide zijbenen recht.

To be sure both earrings look alike, it is best to make both shapes at the same time.

Cut 2 pieces of heavy copper wire.

Wrap them around a tube shaped thing ( a bottle, a stick ... ) .

Bend both ends 90 degrees towards the outside at the place where both ends cross each other.

Use flat nose pliers to straighten both 'legs'.

This is the result: 

Rijg aan de vorm - daarvoor moet je wel terug even een uiteinde recht maken  - een creme edelsteenkraal + een tussenkraaltje + de crab fire agaatkraal + een tussenkraaltje + een crèmekleurige edelsteenkraal.

Rol de 2 uiteinden op in een krul. Zorg wel dat er aan de binnenkant van de krul , aan de aanzet ervan, voldoende ruimte is om een ringetje door te steken!

Klop met de hamer en op het aambeeld zachtjes op de vorm om de vorm te fixeren.

String onto the shape - therefor you need to unbend one site - a cream coloured gem stone bead + a spacer + crab fire agate button bead + spacer + cream coloured gem stone bead.

Make a curl at each end of the wire. Make sure to leave enough space for a jump ring at the beginning of the curl. 

Hammer softly to fixate the shape a bit. 

Neem een flink stuk dunne metaaldraad en rijg het tot halverwege mee door de kralen.

Take a large piece of light weighted copper wire and stick it through the beads until the center of the piece of light weighted wire. 

Wikkel de draad een keer of 3 rond de vorm, vlak naast de crèmekleurige kraal. Rijg 3 rocailles aan, hou ze aan de binnenkant van de vorm en wikkel de draad opnieuw 3 keer rond de vorm.

Wrap the wire 3 times around the shape, close by the cream coloured bead. String 3 seed beads. Keep them at the inside of the shape ad wrap the wire around the shape 3 times. 

Herhaal dit aan beide kanten tot je aan beide kanten de krul hebt bereikt. 

Nu ga je de draad terug richting crab fire kraal rond de vorm wikkelen, maar deze keer aan de buitenkant en met telkens 1 rocaille.

Repeat this at each side until you reach the curl. 

Now go back towards the crab fire gem stone bead, but this time add the seed beads at the outside of the shape. Use 1 seed bead instead of 3.

Wikkel de draad rond de vorm in het gaatje van de lus van de drie rocailles. rijg een rocaille en wikkel de draad weer rond de vorm in de lus van de 3 rocailles. Als je terug aan de crèmekleurige kraal bent gekomen, werk je het uiteinde weg.

Wrap the wire around the shape in the loop of the 3 seed beads, string a seed bead and again wrap the wire around the shape in the loop of the next 3 seed beads. When at the cream coloured bead again: cut loose ends.

Dan heb je dit ...

This is the result ... 

Vouw de hanger met je vingers in de juiste vorm. Neem een eindje lichte koperdraad en wikkel hem rond het stukje onder de 2 krullen.

Bend the pendant in it's shape with your fingers. Take a piece of light weighted copper wire and wrap it a few times around both 'legs' of the pendant, just beneath the curls. Cut loose ends. 

Bevestig aan elke kant in de daarvoor voorziene uitsparing een open ringetje. 

Attach at each side in the space, especially created for this , a jump ring.

Bevestig een ringetje door de 2 ringetjes en bevestig daar aan de  oorhaak.

Attach a jump ring tonto both jump rings. Attach ear wire onto the jump ring.

Oorbel 1 is klaar!

Earring 1 is done!

Maak er nog een en straal!

Make another one and shine!
