Mama troonde me een paar maanden geleden mee binnen in het helaas binnenkort sluitende (of misschien is het al gesloten ondertussen) laatste kantwinkeltje van Antwerpen. Een beetje raar wel, dat er geen kantwinkeltjes meer zijn. Vroeger waren er meerderen. Ik zag er voor een klein prijsje wat kanten kerstornamenten hangen en bedacht me dat ik daar misschien wel oorbellen mee zou kunnen maken. Als dat in een kerstboom kan hangen, dan kan dat ook aan oren hangen, niet?
Deze kanten kerstbomen en engeltjes zijn met iets behandeld waardoor ze stijf zijn en dus mooi hun vorm behouden, zelfsmet extra kraaltjes. Wat denk je: geslaagd of niet?

A few months ago, my mum took me along to what is—sadly—the last remaining lace shop in Antwerp, soon to close (or maybe it already has by now). It feels a bit strange that there are no lace shops left in Antwerp. There used to be several.
While looking around, I spotted some lace Christmas ornaments for a small price, and I thought: why not turn these into earrings? If they can hang in a Christmas tree, surely they can hang just as beautifully from a pair of ears, right?
These little lace Christmas trees are treated with something that makes them stiff, so they keep their shape perfectly—even with some extra beads added. What do you thing: lovely earrings for the holidays, no?

- 2 x 1 kanten kerstboom/lace Christmas tree
- 2 x 4 rode kralenhangertjes/red bead pendants
- 2 x 1 sterhangertje/star pendant
- 2 x 5 open ringetjes/jump rings
- 2 x 1 klein open ringetje/small jump ring
- oorhaakjes met strass/ear wire with strass
gereedschap/tools
ZO MAAK JE HET/DIY
Bevestig een ringetje aan het puntje van de kerstboom.
Attach a jump ring onto the top of the tree.
Bevestig met het kleine ringetje het oorhaakje.
Attach, by using the small jump ring, ear wire.
Bevestig met een open ringetje een rood kraaltje aan het kleine ringetje.
Bevestig de sterrenhanger aan het open ringetje aan de top van de kerstboom.
Attach by using a jump ring a red bead pendant onto the small jump ring.
Attach the star pendant onto the jump ring at the top of the tree.
Bevestig een beetje mooi verdeeld over de boom de andere 3 kralenhangertjes. Oorbel 1 is klaar.
Attach, nicely placed all over the tree, the 3 other bead pendants. Earring 1 is done.
Maak er nog eentje en straal!
